Ten on Tuesday

Back By Popular (not really, maybe 3 people) Demand....
It's time to blog again!

Here's my Ten on Tuesday! A special thanks to Erin for letting me steal yet again.

1. Do you color? If you do, is it with markers, crayons, colored pencils, etc.?
I LOVE to color!! Being an art teacher's daughter, of course, it is ingrained. I don't discriminate against different mediums, but I DO love coloring with crayons--dark on the outside and lightly shaded in the middle.

2. What’s the most organized part (or system) in your house?
Probably MY side of the closet.

3. What’s the most unorganized part (or system) in your house?
Every other part that isn't my side of the closet. J/K...maybe under the bathroom sinks.

4. If you had unlimited amounts of time and money, what museum would you want to see and why?
I love any history museums....Smithsonian, the Museum of Natural History, etc.

5. What is your favorite part of the fall season?
THE WEATHER!! It helps to eliminate any frizziness in my hair!

6. Did you dress up for Halloween?
Pretty much every year of my life, excluding the last 2 years. :( As I get older, it's harder to find excuses to do it.

7. Have you started Christmas shopping?
Nope! Haven't even thought about it. "Gift Giving" is last on my Love Languages. I can't help it!!

8. Do you crack your knuckles?
Yes, and my big toes.

9. If you had to live in another city for a year (all expenses paid), which city would you choose?
I can't decide, but it'd have to be somewhere with fall-like weather, low humidity, and GREAT food.

10. Do you have any reoccurring dreams?
Several. They include--Teeth falling out, going to work or other public places with no clothes on, and students acting horrible.

Ten on Tuesday

A special thanks to my friend, Erin, for letting me steal this!

1. Where did you go to college?
Kennesaw State University...home of the HOOTY HOO Owls!

2. What did you study?
Early Childhood Education

3. Was college really all that it was cracked up to be?
The social aspect of it was all that and more!

4. How far were you from home?
About an hour...perfect distance!

5. Did you have the same roommate all four years?
Out of my 4 years living on campus, I lived with 2 girls from "Disgusta" Ga (1 year), one crazy Puerto Rican who I absolutely love (all 4 years), two beautiful Colombians (3 years), and a Brazilian (one year). I learned more from them than I ever knew I could. Te quiero mucho!!!!!

6. Where did you order food from at 2am?
Order, no. Waffle House visit, yes.

7. Did you date in college or were you tied down?
Tied down, dated, all of the above.

8. Funniest drunk college moment?
...

9. Did you make it to class on time?
Shamefully, no. I was a constant 5-10 minutes late to every class my first 2 years. I got a little more responsible as the "teacher" side kicked in.

10. What was your favorite class in college?
I really loved one of my Literature classes...don't remember the name of it. I do remember that we read Dante's Inferno...those 9 levels of Hell...geez!

More Flags.....

=More Fun!

So I just got back from Six Flags. My friend Jena and I had free "teacher passes" for having students participate in the reading program.
*Thanks kids!!* Now, this was not my first trip to Six Flags, but my first as a 25-year-old OLD LADY! At least, that's what the rides made me feel like.
So...here's my short summary of the good and bad:

Goliath-- A-
This ride is pretty awesome. We rode it first thing because the wait for it is usually the longest. It has some 20-story drops and goes over 70 mph! I did manage to tire out my legs from trying to keep myself in my seat the whole time!

Batman-- A+
Batman will forever be my favorite ride at Six Flags. Maybe it's because it was the first crazy coaster I rode, or because I have dreams about it all the time. Either way...Love it!! I really like the whole "Gotham City" feel with the Batman music. Random- they painted it blue!

Mindbender-- B+
Not the "Riddler" anymore...back to its old name! Not much to say...still green..still goes really close the the ground......

Superman-- A-
This ride is freaking awesome! Totally disorienting to be riding on your stomach facing down at the ground. I would consider this one the scariest ride in the park. Would be an A+ if it were a little bit longer of a ride! And yes, at one point I DID hold my hands out in front of me like Superman!

Scream Machine-- C+
Up....down....Up....down...Up...down...Not my style, but whatever!

Wild West something-or-other Comedy Show-- A-
I was a little skeptical about watching a show, but this one was actually funny! Plus, it allowed time for the lunch to settle!

Mine Train--A-
How could you not love the Mine Train! Classic! Really good ride for folks who are just getting started with roller coasters. Only ride in the park I have ridden 10+ consecutive times!

Scorcher--B-
If you love to stand up and have the blood rush from your head while simultaneously having your crotch squished, then this ride's for you!! Just kidding...the Scorcher is a pretty neat concept! Gives you a little bit of a headache, though.

Georgia Cyclone-- D+
Dear Cyclone...years ago, you were my favorite. Now that I'm old, my body just can't take it anymore. We've had some good times, but I'm afraid today was my last ride. RIP

Might As Well Confess...

So...after seeing a couple of friends' confessions today, thought I might as well join in the fun!

Friday Confessions:

#1. Tried to "work" in my room today...some people have been working in their rooms all week, but I have avoided my room like the plague. Stayed today about an hour and a 1/2, then bailed!!

#2. I took some desks from a somewhat-empty classroom...we'll call it "extended borrowing". In a rush, I tried to carry 2 desks at a time and one slipped and bruised the back of my leg. Payback.

#3. Turned the thermostat down about 3 degrees from where it's supposed to be. Don't worry Jeff! It will be back up to 72 by the time you get home! :)

#4. I fasted all day to get my blood work done at the doc's office, then proceeded to gorge myself with Zaxby's and a sleeve of Fudge Striped Shortbread cookies and milk!!

Whew....confessing feels good!

Embarassing Story!!

So, I'm at Wal-Mart a few minutes ago buying some school supplies, and as I'm walking out through the door, the alarm goes off. Didn't really panic, because this happens every once in a while to everyone. The greeter lady checks my receipt and all of my bags, and then I try going through the the door again....BEEEEP! She asked me about 95 times if I had purchased any electronics..nope--only school supplies and random bacon and bananas.

I gladly offer her my purse to look through, trying to convince her I am as innocent as can be. We open the big part of my purse, and lo and behold--there is the bootleg copy of Alice in Wonderland that a friend let me borrow a few months ago!! I instantly panic as she grabs the movie and heads to get a manager.

It is important at this point to mention that I am at the Wal-Mart where ALL of the parents at my school shop. I could just feel the eyes boaring into me as little kids were probably whispering, "Mommy, why is Mrs. Green pulling a DVD out of her purse?".

At this point, I am sweating profusely and feel I could vomit/pass out at any moment. After telling the greeter and the manager my story about the bootleg movie dealer at the Highway 41 Flea Market, {Praise the Lord!} they finally drop the dirty looks and believe me.

Moral of this story--If you're going to borrow or buy bootleg movies from a flea market, please at least be smart enough NOT to carry them around in your purse.

Here we go!!

So....this is my new "blog"! Haven't had one in a good while since this one--4 years, to be exact. I'm definitely NOT the most eloquent writer, so don't expect much. Mainly, just randomness!!

Enjoy!
